William Morris Stewart, the first Nevada Silver Senator, unraveled the web of conflicting Comstock Lode Claims in Virginia City, called out corrupt Judges, provided agriculture, carpentry, masonry and ranching skills in his namesake Carson Indian Industrial School, elected Nevada's first Senator in two parties, founded Chevy Chase, built railroads, irrigated the West and wrote the Fifteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution protecting voting rights, regardless of race, color, or previous condition of servitude.
