Our Government Contract

In the 1970s, as Federal government grew more bankrupt, compromised, foreign, invasive, larger, powerful and sinister, our real living standard, once the envy of the world, began to decline (Graph):

We Americans worked harder and harder to produce, reproduce and survive the American Dream.

Our single income family was replaced by double and multiple income families and daycare.

Good jobs left our shores for cheaper wages in Bangladesh, China, India, Korea and elsewhere. 

American savings fell from the highest in the world to the highest debts in the world.

Today we Americans have just $9402 savings per family for life. We have $753,376 debt per family. Our family net worth is -$743,974 per family:

Why is that?

The billionaire hostile takeover of our representative government.

Most recently, the secret TransPacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal that gives power to unelected multinational corporations and their lobbyists, rubber-stamped by an under-elected unrepresentative Congress.

No wonder fewer than 25% of eligible American citizens vote for tweedledee and tweedledum choices.

A choice not an echo.

People with a perspective of history, looking at America in 2015, are shocked by the return of complaints enumerated in our 4 July 1776 Declaration of Independence:

a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world


He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good

He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only

the State remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within



He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners

He has obstructed the Administration of Justice, by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary powers


He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone


For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury

 
He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance


He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislature

He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power

He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation

For Quartering large bodies of armed troops among us

For protecting them, by a mock Trial, from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States


For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world

For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent


For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences

For abolishing the free System of English Laws

establishing therein an Arbitrary government, and enlarging its Boundaries

For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments

For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever

He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us

He has destroyed the lives of our people

He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation and tyranny

He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers

Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government

Read this once a day and repent.

Our 17 September 1787 Constitution offers effective remedies and solutions when we elect Constitutional Representatives:

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America

Uniform Taxes
The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States

Uniform Laws
No Bill of Attainder or ex post facto Law shall be passed

Domestic Campaign Funding Only
no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State

Sound Money based on gold, silver (and copper)
No State shall enter into any Treaty, Alliance, or Confederation; grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal; coin Money; emit Bills of Credit; make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts; pass any Bill of Attainder, ex post facto Law, or Law impairing the Obligation of Contracts, or grant any Title of Nobility

Power of Congress
To raise and support Armies, but no Appropriation of Money to that Use shall be for a longer Term than two Years;...To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Union, suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions

Peace
No State shall, without the Consent of Congress, lay any Duty of Tonnage, keep Troops, or Ships of War in time of Peace, enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State, or with a foreign Power, or engage in War, unless actually invaded, or in such imminent Danger as will not admit of delay

Citizenship Requirement
No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President

Constitutional Oath of Office
Oath or Affirmation:—"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States"

Treaties
He shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur

Impeachment
The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors

House Impeachment
The House of Representatives shall chuse their Speaker and other Officers; and shall have the sole Power of Impeachment

Senate Trial of Impeachment
The Senate shall have the sole Power to try all Impeachments. When sitting for that Purpose, they shall be on Oath or Affirmation. When the President of the United States is tried, the Chief Justice shall preside: And no Person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two thirds of the Members present. Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment and Punishment, according to Law

Trial by Jury
The Trial of all Crimes, except in Cases of Impeachment, shall be by Jury; and such Trial shall be held in the State where the said Crimes shall have been committed; but when not committed within any State, the Trial shall be at such Place or Places as the Congress may by Law have directed

Treason
Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the Testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court

Rights of Citizens
The Citizens of each State shall be entitled to all Privileges and Immunities of Citizens in the several States

Representative Government and Protection from Violent Invasion
The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened), against domestic Violence

Our 25 September 1789 Bill of Rights

Ten of the proposed 12 amendments were ratified by three-fourths of the state legislatures on December 15, 1791. The ratified Articles (Articles 3–12) constitute the first 10 amendments of the Constitution, or the U.S. Bill of Rights. In 1992, 203 years after it was proposed, Article 2 was ratified as the 27th Amendment to the Constitution

I. Freedoms of the People
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances

II. Right of the People to keep and bear Arms
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed

III. Separation of Citizens and Military
No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law

IV. Right to be secure
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized

V. Due Process
No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation

VI. Right to Impartial Speedy Public Criminal Jury Trial
In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence

VII.  Right to Common Law Jury in Cases over $20
In suits at common law, where the value in controversy shall exceed twenty dollars, the right of trial by jury shall be preserved, and no fact tried by a jury, shall be otherwise re-examined in any Court of the United States, than according to the rules of the common law

VIII. Limited Bail, Fines, Punishment
Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted 

IX.  Peoples' Rights
The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people

X.  States' and Peoples' Rights
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people
